On July 17, People’s Economy Lab hosted our sixth Lunch Lab: “Who should own our housing? The give and take of private, public, and cooperative ownership.”
Lunch Labs are opportunities to dive deeper on some of PEL’s favorite topics, from regenerative economics to Community Wealth Building to Collaborative Governance and beyond.
We had two guest speakers on July 17: interim CEO at Seattle Social Housing Developer Tiffani McCoy and housing associate at Homestead Community Land Trust and real estate agent Pearl Nelson. Tiffani and Pearl emphasized the importance of choices in our housing, as well as education and engagement about the choices available, from social housing to community land trusts to private ownership and beyond.
