The People’s Economy Lab works to advance the transition to a restorative economy in Washington State by supporting the development of new economic systems that center and empower Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
We push the boundaries of what’s possible for a Just Transition to local, community-centered economies that are equitable, democratic, and regenerative. We convene community leaders, workshop transformative ideas, and build better economic models. We give life to system change strategies that shift money, resources, and power to BIPOC communities.
JUST TRANSITION IN ACTION
The People’s Economy Lab strives to ensure a Just Transition, where frontline communities are at the forefront of building equitable, democratic systems and creating transformative environmental and economic outcomes for everyone. In the spirit of collective learning and sharing, we joined Front and Centered to host our first-ever Washington State Just Transition Strategy Summit in December 2021. Find out more about our Just Transition strategies and how we’re aiming to apply the Just Transition Framework to our shared work with coalition members.
