On December 4, People’s Economy Lab hosted the third session of our Lunch Labs virtual guest speaker series.
Lunch Labs are opportunities to dive deeper on some of PEL’s favorite topics, from regenerative economics to Community Wealth Building to Collaborative Governance and beyond.
We had two guest speakers on December 4: founder of Resource Equity Caleb Jackson and local artist Myron Curry. Caleb shared about Resource Equity’s efforts to advance equity and stability for Seattle’s historically displaced Black communities. Resource Equity supports Black community members to retain their homes, protect their assets, and build a secure financial future. Myron spoke about a predatory reverse mortgage on his grandfather’s home in the Central District and how Resource Equity is supporting him and his family to retain ownership and build generational wealth through development of accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on the property.
